Jumping cursor

Has anyone experienced, with Lat D600, where the cursor will jump to another line while typing? This seems to happen in stand alone mode only. One person mentioned that is happened when she applied power to the laptop?

Thanks, Jim

I have fount that turning off the clicking feature on the touch pad resolved this issue for myself and two or three of my clients it seems that we where dragging our thumbs on the pad causing the cursor to change focus while typing.

May I ask how you turned off the clicking feature on the touch pad, as I do not see an option to do this within the mouse control panel or the driver options?

Thanks.

What version of the driver are you using, version 5.4.102.4 does not look to have touchpad within the mouse properties dialog.

Thanks again

go to control panel-->mouse properties-->touchpad-->uncheck tapping.

You can still drag the cursor around but you have to use the buttons to click on things.

I have 5.4.102.2 as shipped by Dell and am logged in as the administrator.

I have had this problem as well. I do not have a "Touch" tab in my Mouse control panel settings. Is there a download for this?

I have this problem as well. I downloaded the synaptics touchpad drivers for XP and I still do not have the option for disabling the clicking of the touch pad. HELP US! This is for my VP! AHH!

Actually I went to the drivers downloads and updated to the lastest Touch Pad driver and that gave me the options that I needed. Thanks!

On some of the synaptics drivers if you right click the icon in the system tray you are given the option of disabling the clicking.  I no longer have the laptop to verify this will work but you can check it out.
