Kensington PocketMouse Pro
I have a conflict between the duel pointing devices on the Inspiron 8600 and this wireless optical mouse. Technically I can get it to work with or without the kensington drivers. However, If I don't install Kensington's drivers then the computer will lock up after coming out of standby when using ANY program to watch a movie. (closing the notebook and then reopening, etc). If I load the Kensington drivers (latest but not the beta drivers) the computer will come out of standby but the other pointers go bonkers and will not function. Also the computer will lock-up when going into hibernation with the Kensington drivers.
Is this a known issue??? I've seached this forum without success and kensington's readme files don't address this. I find it interesting that Dell pushes this mouse on it's Web site if it has these conflicts. I would also think that Kensington would address this issue in order to be featured as a Dell accessory for the notebooks. (maybe I'm crazy but I believe things should actually work) I don't want to disable the alternate pointers for those times I don't want to pull out the mouse. Can't they all just get along?
This computer is a week old and I love it except for this problem. Great mouse overall but I can't live with a conflict like this. HELP!!!
Maybe someone knows a better mouse? I do love the compact storage, color, etc. so I'd love a workaround.

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Dell has no documentation for 3rd party devices. This should be placed on Kensington's forum since the issue is with this device.

What? I thought this was a community forum. I've seen similar discussions in this forum and now your saying get out? This is a product that Dell pushes on it's web site and I'm sure several people have purchased with their Dell notebook and may have the same problem...and we shouldn't discuss it here? I sounds more like Dell pointer driver conflict to me...my chances for help at Kensington will be much less since it is not Dell specific.
I did a search on this forum prior to posting and there were several discussions about this mouse unfortunately I didn't see anything that specificly addressed my issues. I also didn't see you make this comment to them!!!
Boy do I feel welcomed to this forum!!! Thanks for the help.

no kidding man ive had my dell inspirion 1150 for 4 days and been having nothing but problems with the thing everyone told me to buy a dell so i did and when ever i have a problem i try to call them to fix the problem ill ether be put on hold for hours and i do mean hours or get the run around im tired of this allready. im a college student that needed a really good laptop and tried to custimize it for school and all ive been getting is problems when i install new hardware or software or in this case drivers. i also been having the same problem with the kensington pocket mouse pro. after using the pocket mouse for about an hour or so and touching the touchpad it will go crazy and go all over the place and start selecting programs on its own. i half to restart my computer in order for the problem to go away.
i wish someone could help me!
