Keyboard connector latch on mini 1018

Looks like the tiny black plastic latch on on keyboard connector for Inspiron mini 1018 is broken on one side. Even with ribbon in connector keyboard not working. Is this something that can be replaced? Can't find info on this anywhere. Do I have any other options? Can't believe such a small and flimsy piece of plastic could make an entire notebook unusable! Thanks for your help.

The connector isn't sold separately - look for someone selling an otherwise dead board on EBay and salvage the connector. Otherwise, you'll need to replace the mainboard.

Hello Travelgirl58,

In addition to what Ejn63 has said, I would request you to attach the images of the connector so that we can assist you further.

Awaiting your response!

Travelgirl58, did you ever find a keyboard cable clip? I just broke mine upgrading the ram. Mine is brown though.
