Keyboard issue Inspiron e1405
Posted this once before - need additional help. My keyboard for my laptop stopped working. Ordered a replacement keyboard, installed it, still didn't work. Got a usb keyboard and am able to type on my laptop with that (how convenient, but at least I could access a few emergent files). Can someone suggest what I do next? If the USB keyboard works, then what is the problem that the keyboard on the laptop doesn't work? Thanks in advance.

There's either damage to the keyboard connector or the keyboard controller - replace the mainboard.

I was afraid of that - but I guess it's cheaper than a new laptop. Think I can do it myself?
