Keyboard Problems, are they covered?
Dell Inspiron 5100
Hi All,
I recently spilled water on my keyboard (the lower right side if it matters). This has happened to me before and everything worked out fine. This time, while I was soaking up water I dislodged the Down Arrow key. I tried to put it back on but it wouldn't work. Since then I have lost the key and the small rubber piece under it. Also some of my keys are now sticking. I have gone through the 'Sticky Keys FAQ' and it didn't help, and I don't have the parts to do the 'Replacing Keys FAQ'.
Problems:
Consistantly Sticky Key: Left Arrow
Occasionaly Sticky Keys: Up Arrow, Down Arrow, End, R.Shift, Delete
Missing Key: Down Arrow
Okay enough info, I'm wondering if a keyboard replacement would be avalible under my warranty.

Note: I'm not familiar with this site but I have been searching for about 20 minutes and I couldn't find an answer.

BranMuffin,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
It is possible that the water spill shorted out part of the motherboard. The spill may also have voided the warranty on your system. Please go through the troubleshooting steps posted as item #4 on the Keyboard / Pointing Devices FAQ.
