l502x SOUND ISSUES
I recently bought a L502X, and as soon as I received it I heard the "pops and crackles". Since then I have received a replacement model and it does the same exact thing. I have tried all the fixes, Intel rapid storage fix, nvidia registry fix, uninstalling drivers and installing them back, uninstalling mcgafee and disabling the windows firewall and nothing has worked.. and i did try this on both systems.
I noticed whenever I open firefox my dpc jumps up to crazy numbers, same with listening to music on itunesor watching youtube (on both machines)
the hang up on my acpi is over 90ms, iastor.sys is at 100ms, ntoskrnl.exe is at 21ms tcpip.sys is at 3ms ndis.sys is at 1.6ms everything else is .2 or less....
I cant believe dell is shipping 100s and 1000s of these laptops knowing there is an issue with them...
Unfortunately I am a college student with no credit and this is the only company that gave me credit... I do not know what to do!
PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!

I'm not sure weather to tag along into this question or start a new thread. Does your laptop freeze and have high distortion for a few seconds then return to notmal when litening to music, videos and other stuff. I have the exact same model and have just purchased it recently. (Last week)

If you can't live live with this problem how about returning the XPS L502x and getting a different Dell model that doesn't have a known audio problem like this? I think anything you get with Vista or 7 is going to have a predilection to audio problems, but the only line of Dells with this current intractable problem is the XPS line as far as I know. Someone correct me if I am wrong. There 7 or 8 other Dell laptop lines.
Anyone who gets a new laptop and has this problem out of the box, think about this. After the 21 day return period is up, you will own the problem. A solution might come out later but there is no certainty of it. The earliest Studio models had similar audio noise problems and no solution was ever found.
I see this happening and I can't believe it either. It looks like the Studio fiasco is happening all over again. I sincerely hope that I turn out to be wrong in my pessimism about this and that a fix will be soon forthcoming.
