Laptop Dims

Question

I have a C600 and just recently the screen will dim with use. It works for approx 2-3 hours then the screen will dim. If I hit the crt button twice it will start to work again. After a while (it varies) it will go dim again. I can keep hitting the CRT button but it gradually become dim faster and faster.

Any ideas what this could be?

My first guess would be either the backlight inside the LCD panel or the inverter mounted to the bottom exterior user changeable if you can find a replacement inverter).  Another possibility is the video card, but the former are more common to show problems with age.   funtoupgrade
