Laptop Drivers help - Windows 2003?

Hello friends,

My Laptop is Inspiron 1440 and bought in 2009.

Serial # FBQY3BS

I got this lappy along with VISTA support. So far no issues.

Recently, I had to install SAP. For it, I needed Windows server 2003. Hence got it installed. With the help of Mobo, got the network drivers working.

However if I see the Dell support of drivers, it only shows me vista and 7 drivers. Not even XP drivers....

Please help in getting the latest drivers for my lappy on this OS. If XP drivers might work, then where can I find the XP drivers if there is NO windows 2003 support? Its strange dell ain't providing the required stuff for their customers.

Regards,

Harry

Windows XP drivers usually work with server 2003.  That said, some devices may not have XP drivers - and even those that do, may not work with Server (the bluetooth will almost certainly never work with Server 2003).

You will probably find most of the hardware has XP drivers but you'll need to visit Intel, ATI, nVidia, Broadcom - the component manufacturers - for these.  At best, you'll end up with a system that's only partially functional - some things like power management, bluetooth, etc. simply won't work with Server.

As for support, remember - XP and server 2003 are decade-old operating systems headed for retirement in the near future.  If you MUST run them, consider doing so in a virtual environment.
