Laptop not booting properly
My laptop (Dell Inspiron 5110) turned on with a black screen today that said "Windows Error Recovery, Launch Startup Repair (recommended)". It then goes to the "windows is loading files..." screen. I can't bring up any menus or do anything, and the only way to get out of that is to press and hold the power button. When I boot up again and try the "start windows normally" option, the exact same thing happens. Somehow I was able to get it to start properly yesterday (after this happened initially), but unable to today.
I tried hitting F12 to go into boot options. I went to Diagnostics and that took me to the ePSA Pre-boot System Assessment. All Devices checked okay except the Hard Drive. With that, I got lots of beeping noises and a message that said "error code 2000-0142 validation 35747 msg: hard drive 0 - S/N 5WX34WCD, self test unsuccessful. Status = 76".
I assume my hard drive is shot? What are next steps and how do I get data, pics, software, etc off my laptop?

To attempt data recovery, remove the hard drive (video link below), mount it into an external 2.5" case (about $10-20 at most computer stores) and attach to a working system.
This model isn't particularly service-friendly.
Here's how the drive comes out (and is replaced).
