Laptop starts only when cold

I have an Inspiron 3721  which wont start. Upon powering a rythmic clic-clac sound is heard and nothing happens. But the most bizarre thing is that if the computer is cooled to about 5degree C it will start and once started it could run for hours w/o problems. In this condition it just passed a complete Dell test without a hitch.

Rather puzzling. Any hint on what is going on in this rather new machine (of course just past guarantee!).
