Latitude C510 Touchpad: Deactivation?

Hello

Is it possible to deactivate the touchpad completely and use a PS2 mouse instead?  If so, how would I go about it?

I prefer working with the PS2 mouse as opposed to the touchpad.  At this point in time when I attach the PS2 mouse, the touchpad remains active.  This is problematic because my jacket sleeves touches the touchpad when I'm typing and thus the mouse pointer runs all over the show.
