Latitude D620 output to 19" Widescreen - Resolution Issues

I just got a Latitude D620. I am docking it and trying to hook it up to a Sceptre X9W 19" widescreen LCD. The native resolution of this (and all other 19" widescreen monitors I've seen) is 1440 x 900; the Intel 945 chipset doesn't support this resolution. I can do 1280 x 720, which looks ok, but nowhere near as sharp as 1440 x 900. Please tell me there is a solution out there to allow the laptop to accept a 1440 x 900 resolution?!
