Latitude D630 Beeps
Hello, I have this strange noise. I have some type of beeps that Can ONLY be heard when resting my ear on the keyboard or when there is complete silence. I wish not to say that it is an error code because i do not have the time to fix it because of school. I believe the beeps are something to: 7-X-X ( X Is unknown number). I really want to fix this because i have began to notice that my computer is beginning to slightly slow down. (Not that it matters) Thank you if any ideas or advice on what it is.:emotion-18:

Hi J.Naw,
You can try running diagnostics on the system to identify the issue. The following steps will help you in running the onboard system diagnostics:
Shut the system down, hold down the 'Fn' key and start the system. A series of test will run on the system which should take around 20 to 30 minutes. Please make a note of errors codes (If any) and reply to this post with the result.

Well, I dont think i can do that, I have been dual-booting windows 7 and linux mint. If this requires the hidden partition, it has been wiped from the harddrive...

The diagnostics won’t require utility partition. You may run the tests mentioned earlier to check the functionality of the hardware components. This will help us identify the issue better and help you in providing a faster resolution.

So, The system found no errors, but what i did find was, that my tests were runnning at 2034 MB instead of 2048. Any reason why. I am planning to be upgrading the ram to about 3 or 4 gigs, Hopefully my laptop supports it. Please answer these two question!

Hi J.Naw,
The complete memory capacity is not utilized by the system and some amount of space if reserved. THis is absolutely normal and the memory sticks should be fine. The system supports DDR2 memory at 667 MHz and the maximum memory capacity of your system is 4GB.
