Latitude D630 or E6400?
I can save about $300-$400 on a refurbished D630 and have it in 3 days or order a new E6400 with the same specs for $1900, and will have to wait until middle of Sept. I'm not in a big hurry but sooner is always better once you decide to order. Question is, how good is the D630? Has it been a good model? And how about getting a new model that has just been released? The E6400 sure does look nice. Please, I need some help out there on making my decision. I've had 6 Dells and have had no problems at all. Tech support has been great (once you can finally get to real people)! I'm now using a Thinkpad T42 and have the urge to upgrade to a new toy. I have really enjoyed all the informative information on this forum. Thanks to everyone for their great input.

Depends on whether you're OK with outgoing technology - the newer system ushers in the entirely new E-series.

Shobud,
I'm assuming you may have already made up your mind about which way to go on this purchase. But if you haven't, allow me to contribute my $.02.
We recently acquired close to 70 of the new Latitude E6400 laptops. And, we have had nothing but problems since. Problems ranging from blue screens to 3 flavors of intermittent system lockups. And to top it off, Dell Support hasn't been much help.
We are fast approaching 3 weeks of this issue being unresolved and our user community is on the edge of mutiny.
My recommendation: buy a D630
Sincerely,
