Hi all, i need some help with my notebook this problem has just occured and i cant find any other solutions.

Issue :

pointing stick does not work, with the pointing stick's set of buttons (left/right)
however touchpad is working fine with the set of touchpad's set of buttons (left/right)

Troubleshooting that i have done but to no avil :

-rebooted/safely shutdown notebook
-unplugged/plugged AC power
-uninstalled/reinstalled touchpad/pointing stick driver from dell.com.sg
-tried generic driver from vista but to no avil, touchpad able to work but not the pointing stick
-tweaking settings (disabling functions) using dell touchpad software bundled with the driver
-system restore to the last known date of able to use of pointing stick

please kindly help me with this problem if you can share with me any possible solutions

Thanks a lot.

Go to the Control Panel and open Mouse. In the Device Select tab, make sure that the pointing stick and its buttos aren't disabled.
