Latitude D800 does not boot when a USB device is attached

When I attach a USB hard drive to USB or USB2.0 my D800 fails to either boot, or go to set up menu, or to boot options. My usb hard drive (Ennyah USB enclosure Hitachi HDD 40gb) takes only 98 mA current.

It is essential if I want to take a norton ghost. Even in win xp pro, my USB 2.00 does not work.

Is there a problem with BIOS A02, or the chipset Intel pm855.

I already lost many days trying different ways. Even trying Dell help.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

I had a look through the BIOS revision changelog and there have been quite a few issues regarding USB periphs and booting, so I stongly suggest you pull down the A06 and have a go with that.
