SATA 3G drives are backward compatible with the SATA 150 controller in the D820; there's no BIOS restriction - any current SATA notebook drive will work as long as it's 2.5" and 9.5 mm. Note: some Toshiba and Hitachi high-capacity drives are 12.7 mm and will not fit.
