Latitude E5400 Disabling Touchpad mouse

Hi Mbaach,

Welcome to the Community. Click on start, and click on control panel, click on mouse, click on Dell Touchpad, click on the Big Arrow image, Click on device select, at the bottom put a check where is says, Disable touchpad when an external mouse is connected, click apply and then ok.

Thank you for your assistance, Royan.  Unfortunately, there is no icon or text for the Dell Touchpad after clicking Mouse on the Control Panel.  Is it because I am using Windows 7?  I get the following drop down menus:  Buttons, Pointers. Pointer Options, Wheel, Hardware, Activities.

Check if you find Dell Touchpad in the list of installed programs(Control Panel,Programs and Features).

If its not listed use this link below to download and install Dell Touchpad driver:

lt.dell.com/.../lt.aspx

After installing reboot the system and access Dell Touchpad from All Programs or click on control panel, click on mouse, click on Dell Touchpad, click on the Big Arrow image, Click on device select, at the bottom put a check where is says, Disable touchpad when an external mouse is connected, click apply and then ok.

I am having the same issue as described above.  I have followed all tehse steps and the touchpad does not show up in the mouse settings.  As i have a disability that causes me to not be able to typr without support this is becoming very problomatic.  Please Help.

I already install Dell Touchpad and I do Enable touchpad if external mouse is not connected. But my touchpad not running well if power cable, USB and LAN are connected. Please can you solve my problem?
