Latitude E6400 webcam doensn't work under Windows 7 Pro 64bit?

Hello,

I installed Windows 7 Pro 64bit on my Latitude E6400 and now the webcam doesn't work. I can't find a driver that works. The devicemanager doesn't show the webcam and doesn't even schow an unknown device. Can everybody help me?

Thank you!

Kind Regards

I also have Windows 7 Professional x64 64bit E6400 webcam that does not work.  Have tried every creative labs drive on Dell's site.  The link above for the VIst x64 no longer works.  Any suggestions?

Yes try the Dell Webcam Central drivers.

Thanks RIck but that didn't work either.  I installed the software fine but once it launches it says " no supported webcam found".  In Device Manager there is still a device showing up as UNKNOWN DEVICE which is the webcam most likely.

It was a fresh install not an upgrade.  I will try the compatibility mode suggestion.,.....

dapopa9,

Try downloading the Dell System Software and the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed / replaced from this post by Dell> and the Intel AMT SOL/ LMS (NOt sure if this will install or not but try it to be safe) and the Ricoh R5C847.

Install these drivers in this order and use the Vista (I used Vista SP2) Compatibility mode

These drivers are needed to install first as they help to recognize the webcam, wireless adapters, USB Ports and other devices attached to your system.

The you can install the rest of the drivers in order.

Processor Driver (if applicable)
Video
Audio (sound)
Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)
Modem
Network Card

QuickSet(Laptop only)

dapopa9,

Did you upgrade this system to Windows 7? If so, did you install the desktop/notebook utility and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order If you cannot find Windows 7 drivers, then try using the Vista (or XP) drivers and install them in the Compatibility mode
