Latitude E6440 LCD screen upgrade
I have a Latitude E6440, with a 1366x768 display, which developed a column of dead pixels.
So I need to get a new screen, but I also want to increase the resolution in the process.
Can I just remove a 1366x768 display and put in a 1600x900 display, or would I need to change other components to accomplish this?
Thanks!

You will need a new display wiring harness as well - the one from the lower resolution screen won't work properly with the high resolution unit. Also note that the wiring harness differs depending on whether or not your system has a webcam.

Thanks so much for the answer. What is a display wiring harness? I searched the 'Removing and Installing Components' section of the Owner's Manual but couldn't find it. Do you mean the LVDS cable?

Yes - LVDS or DP cable is synonymous with wiring harness. The cable also connects the webcam to the system, if you have that option.

I have the same question, but I want to replace the 1600x900 screen with a 1980x1080 on an E6440 with webcam. Do I need a new wiring harness? Any BIOS changes?
