Latitude E6530, wired network stopped working after BIOS update
Hi
I updated the BIOS of my E6530 using Dell Command Update, since it was a recommended update. The update was called "Dell Latityde E6530 System BIOS" version "A17". After reboot, the wired network interface was no longer functional. In Device manager, the network interface "Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection" shows with a exclamation mark in a yellow triangle. Under Properties, the Device status is "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".
My OS is Windows 7 64 bit
In the Event Log, I see this message:
Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection
PROBLEM: Unable to start the network adapter.
ACTION: Install the latest driver from "www.intel.com/.../home.htm".
The source is e1cexpress.
I have tried installing the latest network drivers from both Dell and directly from Intel. I can verify the driver version changes under properties, but the same error prevails.
Any help appreciated

I resolved the issue by reverting to the previous version of the BIOS (A16)

Try entering the BIOS setup disabling the onboard NIC then load Windows and shutdown. Then enter the BIOS setup and re-enable it.

Thanks for the tip natakuc4, for now I have solved the problem by reverting to the previous BIOS. I might try your suggestion, should I have to update the BIOS in the future.
