Lattude C600 CMOS Password
Hi there
I have just fitted a Motherboard on my Old C 600 , I purchased this on e.bay , but when I powered it up , before windows was loaded it is saying , this system is protected by a password you can not access the data on this system without the correct password , I have contacted the seller and he told me that he bought a job lot of 20 from a local auction house !! .
is there anything I can do !!.
cheers

Return the board to the seller - it's useless to you with the password. Require that he/she replace the board with one that is certified password-free.

No, they generally do not - the only way to clear it is with a master password generated from the system service tag, which will be unavailable in all likelihood for a board sold without a system.
