LCD Display doesn't work

Hello. I recently bought a Dell Inspiron notebook. I just recieved today; went to turn it on, but no video is display. I left it on for awhile; nada. I can hear audio for warning beeps and stuff; but the LCD display has absolutely no video signal going to it. Do I have to send it back for repair?

Hello FJRosario,

Welcome to the Dell Community Forum,

According to your description it seems that your reed switch is either sticking or bent. When the problem occurs try removing your hinge cover(it has the power button and leds on it) to see If your LCD comes back on.(note: You'll have to push your LCD all the way back to remove.)If your reed switch continues to cause a problem please contact Dell Technical Support to have the button panel replaced.

Thanks,
