LCD sometimes doesn't turn on
I'm going to take a look through the archives, but I'll post this as well. I have a 3 year old Inspiron 7500 and recently when I restart the laptop the LCD screen will not come on. The video output appears to work fine if I plug into an external monitor. It can go from being up and running fine, and then when I shut down and turn it back on or go to standby and come out of it or simply do a restart command from Windows, the LCD will sometimes not come back on. For a few weeks, if I reset a few times it would eventually turn on the LCD. As of yesterday, it hasn't come back on. Any ideas?

elynskey,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Just above the keyboard, there is a small switch which is depressed when the screen is closed. Make sure that this switch is not stuck in the down position.
This could also be a problem with the backlight failing.
