lightening bolt

I have a D620. I have used it for about 6 months and the lightening bolt, whatever it is, never lit up before. Now it goes on when the computer is plugged in. If the computer isn't plugged in it's not on. Is this a problem?
Thanks for help.

Hi,

the lightning bolt you are referring to, is the battery charging Icon.
It's possible, your battery is slightly discharging, or, you are running your bpc on battery, so it has to charge. I've also seen this, when someone's AC adapter jack on the notebook becomes loose, so the adapter wiggles causing the notebook to go on battery power, here & there.

Thanks I thought the thing to the left of the lightening bolt meant I'm using the battery and that it's charging.
