M1330 Web browsers

Hi,

i've got my XPS M1330 since today, and i have some problems yet. My wi-fi works, but about 30 minutes after the boot of the laptop, no web browser can get connected to the web. my Gmail notifier works, i see when  i get a new message, my messenger works, i can talk to people, Bittorrent works, about 130k/s. even if i close ZoneAlarm, my firewall, it remains the same. the only way to use web browsers is to reboot the computer.

Could someone help me?

Thanks.

Hi! could you try maybe reseting internet explorer to factory settings but it would disable all browser add-ons and you would need to enable them again.... try to go to internet explorer>Tools>Internet options>Advanced Tab> click on reset or restore to factory settings then proceed.... close out of internet explorer and relaunch it... if the issue happens again.... try to do a scan using an antispyware or antivirus program, if you could connect to the internet, go to www.ewido.com click on free online spyware scanner which would direct you to another page.... click on scan now then check if there are some malicious stuff on ie.... it would scan it automatically =)

I just tried to disable all add ons from IE, but it remains the same. And each time the web browsers can't get connected, I close Firefox, but it is still in the Task manager, I click on "End process", but Firefox stays there... And after my PC doesn't want to shut down...

What could I do?

The PC was like this when I received it, I didn't  install lots of programs, I just installed :

- Firefox
- Avast

- ZoneAlarm

- Gmail Notifier

- Windows Live Messenger

- BitTorrent

- iTunes & Quick Time
- VLC

- Super

- Fifa Manager 07

And that's all.

I didn't change some settings, I just unistalled McAfee, Google Desktop Manager, and I disabled UCA and parental control. I didn't do anything else.

Could you help me, please?

I remember a friend of mine had a similar problem a few ago.

He fixed it by uninstalling ZoneAlarm and setting the windows firewall back to default settings.

That made the problem go away. He reinstalled latest ZoneAlarm then and the problem did not re-occur.

Hi! you could also check on the System configuration utility and try to disable the files associated with the programs that you recently installed... Go to Start> Run> Type msconfig> System configuration utility> click on the Startup tab> uncheck the files associated with the programs that you recently installed, you could check it based on their destination/location folders.... click on Apply then close, restart.... then if it fixes the issue, try to isolate or enable each program one by one =)

Irgi you were right : the problem was ZoneAlarm. Closing it is not efficient, I had to uninstall it. Now my web browsers are always connected to the web.

Thank you very much, all of you, for helping me =)
