Maybe not a keyboard problem but a board problem?

Hello all, I need some expert advice. I think I recently broke up my laptop by ejecting a PCMCIA Card without powering it down.(I think this did something bad to my system because after that the problems started showing). Anyways now I can't use my keyboard in DOS(works very rarely sometimes during initial boot), I can only seem to be able to use my keyboard once I get inside windows/linux.

I downloaded dell diagnostics and ran the express test. this is the error message I get.

Error Code 4C00:0522

Msg: The interrupt controller, or a device attached to it, is not working. No interrupt detected for IRQ 1 - keyboard.

Can someone shed some light on this? I get lucky sometimes wherein the keyboard magicaly works, but after a reboot it's not working again.

The reason why I also posted here is because the keyboard works when I'm in Linux/Windows so I'm thinking there's nothing wrong with the keyboard.

Are you still under Dell warranty as if you are I would get in touch quoting the error code.
