Mouse not working on E6430 with KVM

I have the following setup:

• Laptop: E6430
• Wired mouse (tried several)
• Belkin SOHO KVM F1DD104L

The problem: the mouse pointer moves for a second and then stops.

Three other Dell products work though the KVM.

The same setup works with a Dell M4400 laptop (same everything), and my XPS 9100 desktop. All windows 7.

The keyboard does work.

I noticed that the E6430 detects the KVM as a USB 2.0 Hub. The XPS 9100 does detect it as an other device. The KVM is likely a USB 2.0 device.

I am starting to believe that there is an issue with the Dell E6430 USB compatibility implementation.

Can I try a specific driver for the KVM?

Looking for help/ideas on why the E6430 doesn't work.
