N5010 keyboard removal
Every video and web description I've read, shows having to remove a single screw located inside the ram compartment first, but my N5010 has no such screw. That area is completely blank.
any ideas?.

Hi ,
The current build does not have the screws. Hence If these screws are not present on the system, proceed to the next step.
That is pry the keyboard with the use of a flat-head screwdriver towards the display to release the 4 keyboard retainers.
Then lift the rear edge of the keyboard and slide the keyboard to free the tabs on the front edge.(Note:There may be adhesive under the keyboard. Take care when removing the keyboard by using a steady but firm lifting motion).
Locate the keyboard cable and flip open the latch on the keyboard cable.Disconnect the keyboard cable and remove the keyboard.
Hoping this helps.

Hi,
I would ask you to try these steps and advise,
*Remove the two screws securing the keyboard to the system base. Turn the system over.
*Pry the keyboard with the use of a flat-head screwdriver towards the display to release the 4 keyboard retainers.
*Lift the rear edge of the keyboard and slide the keyboard to free the tabs on the front edge.
*Locate the keyboard cable and flip open the latch on the keyboard cable.
*Disconnect the keyboard cable and remove the keyboard.
Awaiting your response,
Regards,
sid little

So I guess mine falls into the red circled category
But I still don't know which screws are holding it down before proceeding.

Finally managed to get the keyboard out.
Can't believe that the 2 screws on earlier versions, were (seemingly) replaced with double sided tape. Anyway, a tip I would have used myself before easing the keyboard out (had I known there was tape there), would be to heat that area up a little with a hair dryer (somewhere between the W,S,R and F keys), which I think would make it easier after warming the tape up.
thanks
