N5110 wifi stops working
I've strange issue with my laptop, it stops working (showing no network), after disabling/enabling it starts working for a while and than again stops.
Here is the scenario,
I was listening a song, i heard some sound glitches, mouse hang too. and wifi stops working.
its happening abruptly not necessarily when i was watching movie or listening a song. Disabling/Enabling solution works but its not a permanent solution, it's happening since i purchased, i've purchased it 2 weeks back
its DELL n5110, Core i5 Sandy Bridge, Dell Wireless 1702 802.11b/g/n, using Windows 7 SP1.
I've updated windows 7 to sp1 just to see if the problem gets resolved with this but no avail.
Thanks,
Faheem

I know that this has to be frustrating. I have a quick test for you. Start the system in safemode with networking. Start the system while tapping F8. Select Safemode with Networking and boot to Safemode. Hope on the web and see if the problem happens in Safemode.
If it works fine in safemode with networking then you know there is nothing wrong with the hardware. That there is some program that is interfering with WIFI. At that point you can check what software is running on the system that require internet access and disable them and see if the problem goes away. Please report back here if the problem continues.

I had an issue with very slow or no internet and fixed it just by clicking on the battery icon and changing the power plan to high performance (do keep it on the default "Dell" setting). Also go into the advanced settings for the wireless internet card in the device manager and set the 802.11n to Auto instead of 20 MHz. Hope this helps and saves you the hours of headache I went through.

I tried 100 different things and I will return the laptop to Dell today:
- Reinstalled wifi drivers several times
- Changed power options to wifi maximum performance
- Upgraded router firmare
- Changed packet burst mode
- Upgraded BIOS
- Reinstalled Windows
- Disabled wifi N network
- Changed miniports power settings
- Changed 802.11n to Auto
- Tried safe mode with network settings
Thanks

Have you tried installing IE9 with SP1?

Yes, I tried that as well. Thank you!
Unfortunately I bought the notebook in US and I am from Brazil, so it is too much trouble to return it.
So the best solution I found was to disable internal centrino wifi and bought a small asus usb wifi.
Good side is that the i5 notebook is very fast and even the Intel 3000 graphics can run latest games which was a surprise for me.
Internet working perfect now.

Hey abbas i bought N5110 core i7 sandy bridge, a week ago and i am having this problem from the very first day. Same happens to me as well, mouse start hanging, sound glitches, and then wifi disconnects. Even disabling/enable doesnt work then. I have to restart my PC to run it again. I think its a motherboard problem. do tell me also, if you are able to inform this issue.
everybody here on this post, Please help.
Regards
Bilal

Brother i am from saudi arabia, I have international dell warranty, bought it from olaya computer market riyadh if u know that place. Well i had HP, and i have a very bad experience with it also :d. Thats why i bought dell. Can you tell me what component did HP changed in your friend's laptop?. You should claim the warranty again and mention them that its probably a motherboard issue because changing the network card dint help. btw where you from?
