Need help with DirectX 9.0c

Question

My Inspiron is currently running DirectX 8.1 and I'm trying to install DirectX 9.0c. When I install it, a message pops-up that say, 'A file neccessary for installation cannot be trusted.' Please help

Are you getting your copy of DX 9.0c off of the Microsoft site?

It could well be a corrupted download in which case you will need to try read downloading once again.

i am having the same problem. i have directx 9.0c on a disc and i have also downloaded it online from microsoft.com but every time i try to install it  a message readsv 'A CABINET FILE NECESSARY FOR INSTALATION CANNOT BE TRUSTED' what can i do?
