Need to enable HT- CPU has ability, bios?

I have a 5150 with a HT 3.06P4. PCmark04, 3DMark03, and speedstep all show the option as available but disabled. I had sent my computer back a couple months ago and the MB and CPU were replaced- I was told I had the HT processor. I cannot find the option in bios (a29) any suggestions?

if the option isn't in the latest bios on your system then can only think that your cpu isn't one of HT capability.

I believe the only portables with HT CPUs are the XPS and 9100. HT is only available on 800MHz FSB CPUs, and I don't think that's what you got.

fsb is not determining factor  -  in fact i852pm chipset (i5150) supporting fsb533 has native support of HT enabled cpu's  -  fsb800 is not absolute requirement

I have replaced my original 3.06 Non-HT with 3.20 HT (i5150) and after upgrading bios I have (2) virtual processors  -  it's either mis-marked cpu or you have not yet enabled in bios - there will be auto detect of HT enabled cpu with i852pm northbridge

talk w/ Dell again  -  one word, if you originally purchased i5150 w/Non-HT cpu, any replacement/exchange will be with Non-HT cpu, unless you have purchased replacement HT cpu from Dell
