Network Card Upgrade

Hi, I purchased a Inspiron 15R (5537) in February , and therefore still have a warranty until February 2015. The laptop shipped with a Intel Wireless-N 7260 card, however having recently updated my router to a 802.11ac capable device I was looking to upgrade this card.

I have identified the below device as a potential replacement, however I am new to such upgrades and unaware whether this upgrade is compatible and also whether it will void my warranty. I was hoping for some guidance as to what my options are?

Thanks in Advance.

Hello.

I have the same laptop as you - 15r / 5537, and have the exact same question as you.  Did you ever find an answer?

I called Dell, and spoke with someone who said my laptop isn't upgradeable to the AC 7260 wireless card.  I'm certainly not taking his word for it intitally.

Please let me know what you found out.  Please post back!

Thanks!

Hi there,

I contacted Dell myself and received the same answer which suggested it wasn't possible although I can safely say I upgraded my wireless card with AC 7260 and have had no problems whatsoever ever since.

I used a video tutorial on youtube to make sure I knew what I was doing - I believe it was this one:

If you have any queries about the process, just let me know!
