Network Controller driver needed for an Inspiron 4100
I am working on an older Inspiron 4100 for the bookkeeper at our school. I put in a new hard drive, installed XP with SP3 and now have it fully patched. I have the LAN interface working, but still see a problem device in device manager. It says it is a "Network Controller" so I assume it is an internal Wireless network interface. I have tried every wireless driver listed for the service tag <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy> , but have not found one that works. Windows update will not find it either.
If I goto the details of the device and look at the device instance ID it says it is: PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4320&SUBSYS_7050144F&REV_02\4&139E449D&0&18F0 which I think it is a Broadcom","BCM4306","WLAN 802.11g mini-PCI Module, which is not listed on Dell's site. I have tried some drivers I have found elsewhere, to no avail. What am I overlooking? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rob
