New 5150 Cooling Unit Problems

It was a glorious day, I just got my early Xmas gift from my dear wife (I got to the delivery guy before she did) and no sooner that I opened it and fired it up, the CPU cooling fan makes loud oscillating noises that are loud and irritating as heck.  Has anyone encountered this problem with this model?  Will Dell replace my laptop or just change the part?  It works just fine and I am very impressed but i've seen CPU fans go before and it's just not cool (literally), plus that's how I know it is the problem.  The tech support guy didn't really have any idea what to do but told me to call the Customer Care Reps.  This is my third Dell but have never had to use their warranty service as my PC's are running like tops.  Any suggestions would be cool....(no pun intended)

you can try running the utilities on the fan to check on it. heck, since it's a new computer you can ask them to replace it with another new one just for cust satisfaction. maybe you got a bum fan.
