The Function keys default behavior can be selected in the bios to Multimedia or original function keys. The 2nd one you choose will need the FN key to work. The default is the Multimedia key. I agree--it would be better with the original setup.
i have reinstalled windows 7 so i am not getting what you are telling in windows mobility center. plz help me out i am not able to increase or decrease brightness, or turnoff wireless.

On Windows 7, just run Windows Mobility Center, and toggle Function Key Row to "Function Key" instead of "Multimedia key".
