No Audio Output Device is Installed
I'm not getting any sound out of my laptop (Alienware M14xR2; Windows 8.1) I've tried to install the drivers and BIOS and it hasn't fixed the problem. The issue seems to be the fact that the laptop doesn't see the device at all. So re-installing the drivers for the audio isn't going to help. The message I'm getting is No Audio Output Device is Installed. I need a permanent fix for this as it has been on an ongoing issue. I thought I fixed it by re-installing the BIOS one time but it isn't working this time.

Hello. There is a known issue with that model and 2 other Alienware models. Dell's article article about it. Notice the small print says "If your system is up to date and this behavior persists, it indicates that your system may need to be serviced." It means it is a motherboard issue.
