No LED Lights On

I just got a XPS 1210 in the mail and wanted to charged the battery fully before turning it on for the first time. But the LED lights on the battery does not show anything when I plugged in all in. So I used the AC adapter to turn it on and checked the DELL BIOS settings and it says the battery is 100% charged and the status is 65W. Should any of the LED lights be on even at 100% charged? How do I know that the battery is working properly?

The only way to ensure that the battery is working correctly is to use the system on battery, and then try to charge it after running it down a bit.
 
The battery light on the system (not on the battery) should come on when the battery is charging.
