Hi JPARIJA,

When did the issue start on the machine? What is the exact system model? What is the OS installed on the machine? Were there any bluescreens / system crashes before this issue started?

Restart the system and press f2 key to enter BIOS and check if the HDD is detected in BIOS.

Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us. If there are no errors on the initial test, then kindly run an extended / thorough test on the HDD.

Based on this we can advise further course of action.

Hi japarija,

Thanks for the update.

If you notice, the HDD is being detected as only 10GB.

Please try reseating the HDD - download the service manual - http://dell.to/1qRUwJP

If you have a bootable USB and another working machine, then you could also try updating the BIOS and check if the issue is resolved - see this link - http://dell.to/208FBGQ
