power adapter message when using docking stationI

I have a Dell Latitude D630 and use a PRO1X docking station with it at my office.  It has worked fine but two weeks ago I encountered this message when I attempted to start up the laptop with is connected to the docking station - i have been able to use the docking station since, ordered a new one, and came up with the same message.  Here is the message:

Your power adapter does not supply enough power to run the attached docking station. Either unlock or insert an appropriate adapter.

I am using the same adapter as I have used for the past three years.  Any suggestions of what to do?

Although the AC adapter might be the same on the outside - the message you depends on the ID returned over the 3rd wire / data line coming from the AC power adapter.

Go into BIOS setup, then power section and see what power rating is displayed for this adapter.

There's a 60 Watt and 90 Watt version.

If there's something like "unknown power adapter" the laptop doesn't receive the adapter type message over the data wire.

There can be multiple causes in case an unknown adapter message pops up.
