Power Button on a 600M

Question

Does anyone know where I can get a power button/voulume button/microphone circut board for 600m. I tried to call Dell direct but the NASTY person at the other end told me I would have to buy a new motherboard assembly. All I need is this little part that is held in by 2 screws. The computer is out of warrant buy 4 months so I can't go that route. I have always been a dell fan but they should FIRE Angela in the non-warranty dept. She is worthless....

Hi,

Parts-people carry them for $26, but no stock at the moment. You could try Ebay, as someone may have one from a dead Mbd. It is the same as a D600, but different to the 500 model. ( either )

Got it....Thanks went to http://www.parts-people.com they didn't have it listed. I called them and within a minute they listed it on the site for me and I orderd it. DONE.. That easy. I wish I had gotten the same type of support from Dell. Thanks again.

Just wanted to give thanks for the link for parts people.  Those folks sound like exactly what I would use for service if/when I needed it!!  And parts, for that matter!!   I like their policy.  No nonsense and honest.  Quick turnarounds, fair prices.  They at least *sound* like they really want to make you happy.  Yes, they want to get paid for doing it, but no, they don't appear to want to rip you off any more than you want to be ripped off.   Sound like good folks!!
