Power Tip Adaptors

On a recent trip, I had left my Dell AC Adaptor behind, so I purchased a Mobility Electronics unit from a local retailer, as it was not practical to order the unit from Dell. I was surprised to find that while the tip supplied did in fact power up my unit, it was not charging the battery. Evidently, according to the manufacture, the Dell power connection is a proprietary design, and does not allow for charging of the battery. I cannot find this specific tip on the Dell site, although the same product is listed there.

 

Would like to simplify my life and be able to charge the battery. Are there any ITips available from Dell to correct this?
