Precision M4800 Power Adapter Issues With Dock

I received a new M4800 from my IT department at work, and right away noticed it was acting strange. Taking very long to boot up, experiencing strange video errors when trying to use the dock with 2 DVI monitors. I solved the video issue by disabling switchable graphics in the BIOS, but the laptop still acts funny. My theory is that disabling switchable graphics is saving power by reverting to 1 video card, and I think power might be the issue as I will detail below.

I guess my first question is regarding the AC adapter. The one that came with the laptop is 180 watts. The one that came with the dock I was given is only 130 watts. The computer recognizes that this is insufficient power, so I only use the 180 watt adapter with the docking station. However, from reading some forums, a 240 watt adapter might be needed to power both the docking station and the laptop effectively. Can you please confirm this?
