The reason that the battery LED light blinks four orange and one blue is because the battery is getting heated. Shut down the notebook; remove the power adapter and the battery. Keep the battery aside for a while before you install the battery back. Now, please check the LED status. If the battery LED still remains the same, it indicates that the battery is faulty. The battery usually goes with the standard one year warranty. If your system/battery is not under warranty then you will need to purchase a new battery.
Thank you for your answer, battery was indeed very and I mean very hot when I removed it from the laptop. I inserted it later and everything went back to normal. It's not under warranty anymore as my system is 5 years old :(.
As per your post, I understand that the battery works fine if you remove the battery for a while and install it back. So, please charge the battery completely. Please avoid charging the battery all the time. Allow the battery to discharge itself once in a while.
If the problem continues even after you have tried all of these steps, you may have to replace the battery.
