Problem with Intel Pro Wireless Card

Hello everyone.             On my Dell Inspiron E1505 computer for awhile my wireless card has been giving me a problem. I am not sure where this problem is accuring. I have a Netgear wireless router and in my E1505 laptop I have an Intel Pro set wireless card. My laptop is over a year old. When I connect to my router when I turn on my laptop a measage displays saying "Intel Pro set wireless Trouble Shooter". I click on it and tells me that my "IP address has failed. Try re-typing in security password." I have re-typed my security password so many times. Still accurs when I turn on my computer the next time. I thought that maybe my wireless router was the problem. Today I reinstalled the netgear router software. Still accurs after complete. Then turned off all computers, printers, cable modem, router, etc. for 5 minutes. Turned everything back on and still happeans.

Is their anything to do? What does my IP address have to do with this? It sounds like their is something wrong with my IP address. After going through the trouble shooter steps on laptop I can go online no problem and tells me that everything is fine. My hard drive in my laptop is full. I only have a gig or two left. can that be a problem? Thanks, Rinkerwolf

Same thing happened to me. There is no connection between my netgear router and Inspiron 6000 laptop at all. I have to use a Linksys wireless PCMCIA adapter to make it work.

Are you saying that their is no way to solve this problem? I can still sign online I have to re-type my security password all of the time. Should I take off the password to log online? I just ordered a Dell Inspiron desktop with a wireless card. Is this going to happean with the desktop that is wireless too? Thanks, Rinkerwolf

Are you aware that there is a wireless network forum where these kinds of questions are answered a lot more frequently than they are in this forum?

Are you using the Intel ProSet Utility to manage your wireless network settings or the Windows Utility.  If the Intel Utility, your profiles may have become corrupt.  Try using the Windows utility which works better anyway (in my opinion).

Yes, I am aware of a wireless fourm. I have posted this on it and I got no feed back during the week so I posted this here.

I am using an Intel Proset utility to manage my network. Its been fine during the whole year I have had this computer. Just the last 2 weeks this has been happeaning. It's inouging. I will try to use the windows wireless utility. If that does not work what should I do? Should I go and look for updated drivers and downloads? Thanks

I use windows network management. It can detect the wireless signal but just cannot connect. I have tried hard so I think it is either driver or hardware problem.

I have the software disc for Intel Proset Utility. Should I reinstall it?
