Problem with XPS M1330
Hi,
I own a DELL XPS M1330 and i am currently facing display problems with it.
As soon as i power on the laptop, i don't see any display except the light on the POWER Button. I tried to connect my laptop to the monitor, if there is any problem with the laptop screen and i am seeing no output as well.
Issue: I used to get the colored lines on laptop screen when i power on my laptop. To troubleshoot, i removed the battery and tried connecting it to power solely and then when i switched on my laptop, i lost the colored lines too and from then onwards i see only blank screen (with or without battery) when i switch on the power.
Can somebody please help me on this?
Thanks in advance,
Pradeep

The most likely cause is a bad video chip, a common problem with these nVidia-based systems. You'll need to replace the mainboard to fix the issue, but are likely better off replacing the system.
If you do wish to repair, get a board with Intel video - not nVidia; you'll also need to replace the heatsink assembly as the nVidia one won't fit the Intel board.

To add more, i noticed that after the power buttion is switched on, the laptop is shutting down automatically after 5-10 mins.
Does anybody have any other thoughts??
