Problems with blue screen, suspecting memory problem - Error Code 2F00:0119, on laptop Inspiron 6000
Hi!
Can anyone help me with this problem. I have a Dell Inspiron 6000.
I recieved an error message working in Word that the word document on my desktop was corrupted.
I then rebooted my computer. Now I can't get inte Windows. I only get a blue screen with the message:
Technical information:
Stop 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x82F1BEF0, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)
Then it wants me to search through CHKDSK / F
What is CHDSK / F? And how can make us of that program when I can't get into Windows?
I rebooted the computer and when the computer I pressed F2 and run a search and then recieved this information.
Error Code 2F00:0119
System memory failure;
Read FFFFFEFFh, expected FFFFFFFFh at adress 0FD11014h.
Suspected memory component located on System board, at label DIMM_A.
Anyone who can make sense of this and knows what to do?

Remove and reinstall the memory module in that socket. Re-test. If the module fails again, move it to the other socket. Re-test. If the failure follows the module, replace it - it's faulty. If the module doesn't fail in the other socket, it's the socket that's faulty - replace the mainboard.

Make sure the modules are firmly seated. If that does nothing, try each module one at a time in DIMM A. If they both work there, it sounds like the DIMM B socket is bad.

I now i pushed them in harded. Both momery modules works on both socks. It only says that the memory configuration has changed when I put in one.
But I get the same error message.
Before I go into the blue screen I get "Do you want to start the computer in safe mode, in safe with network, start with the setup you had when you closed windows and start windows". But its no difference which one I choose get the blue screen anyways.
I have to make a quick run to get some dinner, come back in 30 min. Thanks for the help and post, i'll be back in a sec.

Just swap the two. Then re-test. If they're both OK, you're all set. If the failure then says DIMM A, it's a bad module (the two sockets should be labeled). If the failure again says DIMMB, the socket is bad.

I swapped them but now the computer won't start. It just flashes over the symbol (A) that I guess is the memory symbol?
Seems like it is at its end of the road?

Ok, thanks for the fast reply!
How do I know which memory module it is? When I open what I suspect is the memory I see two "memory sticks".
How do I reinstall them?
I am not much of a genie when it comes to these hardware problems... : /

Run the Dell diagnostics on the memory AND the hard drive - F12 at powerup.

If this is the module that produced the error initially (the one that was in socket B), then that module is bad. Replace it.
