Problems with Dell Studio 1537(maybe graphics card)
Hi everyone
I have my Dell Studio 1537 for almost 10 months. When is my computer under presure, I mean when I am running more applications, happend something with my screen. I can not describe it exactly, so I am attaching picture of the screen:
In the time, when I took that picture, was problem only with the background and the icons. But sometimes it happend also to whole screen, I mean to the windows I have opened.
From February, or March I am running on Windows 7 (Firstly I was using test version and now I am using the RC). It is quite long time that I am not using Vista, so I am not sure, if that happend on Vista as well. But on the Win7 is this problem from beginning. I was trying also to update graphiccard driver, but it does not hellped. If you have any ideas what that can be, or how I can solve it, I will be really helpfull. Thank you.

I am sorry to say that this looks like an issue with the graphics card and you will need a new motherboard. Time to call Dell support, Good luck.

I had the same thing happen to me on the 1555, I downloaded a tweak for Areo ( works with Vista and 7 but the tweak was for 7) that you can have transparancy, it changes the setting for Blur on Areo, it solved the problem, for some reason the intel video cards and the driver's for them both Vista and Win 7, do not handle Blur very well
the tweak changes a registry value and solved the problem ( it did for me)
I using Win 7 ultimate and I'm using the Vista drivers for the Intel 4500MHD, the windows 7 drivers made this worse, As I said its fixed now.

Can you tell me where you downloaded the tweak for Aero? I'm having the same problem. Running Windows 7 Home Premium on Dell Studio 15 with Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family. Once in a while the screen just goes haywire, look the pics above. If I disable aero completely it stops. I would like to be able to use aero anytime I want.

I have this problem too. I wish Microsoft, Intel, or Dell would at least admit there's a problem with compatibility and tell us they're working on an update or a new driver. It's ridiculous.
