Nicky,

You do not own a laptop, you own a portable or notebook computer. It was several years ago that we made this change in nomenclature because systems get too hot to use on your lap. Also, the fans on your system face down, and cannot work correctly is they are blocked.

Lithium-ion batteries produce heat, both when charging and discharging.

The recall is about a potential safety hazard with certain Dell batteries. If your battery is not listed, then it is not affected by the recall.

If you feel that there is a problem with your battery, please contact Technical Support, and they can help you with troubleshooting the problem.

Slip a 3 ring binder underneath it and you'll be fine.
