Refreshing my Laptop

I had some issues and choose to Refresh my laptop with the installed dell software....problem: I did not save any of my Outlook mail folders with several important emails in them and during the refresh the system took out all Windows 2003 programs...Does anyone know where I can look in my system to see if there is a file with those folders so I can get the emails?

Hi Dpavlik,

If you have setup e-mail account in outlook, then you can search for the Outlook data file (*.pst). Follow the steps:

  1. Open Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E).
  2. On the upper right of the Windows Explorer, you will see the Search bar.
  3. You may type *.pst to search.
  4. Once you find the data file in the search results then, right click on the Outlook data file ->Open File Location.
  5. You may copy or move this data file to C:\USERS\THE PC\DOCUMENTS\OUTLOOK FILES.
  6. To open the PST files in Outlook, go to File -> Open -> Open Outlook Data File, select the PST file, and click Open.
  7. To change the Outlook dta file as default, go to File -> Account Settings -> Data Files tab, select the data file, and click on Set as default.

Please let me know if this helps.
